Remember tutus from ballet school? Or crinolines (that's really going back far....)? Tulle is exactly that--nylon netting that has been slashed into knittable strips! It is a truly unique look--net-like, airy when knit, springy to the touch, and incredibly light weight (look at the yardage). We love it used for ruffles to trim just about anything, and also as one element amongst others where it adds stability and decreases the weight of the finished garment.
