Imagine a light weight, paper thin layer of wool and nylon that has been felted and cut into strips, with a row of stitching down the middle of the strip for added strength. Well--voila! This is Tyrol. It knits into incredibly light weight fabric with good memory retention and an interesting sueded surface. We like it combined with other yarns in pattern stitches, where it keeps the garment from becoming heavy. A casual, interesting alternative to a classic plied yarn. Tyrol comes in all of our hand dyed colors, but the sampling below will give you an idea how it dyes.
